Niche Award The Niche awards competition sponsored by Niche Magazine celebrates excellence in American and Canadian craft. Jurors selected 149 finalists out of more than 1,000 entries in 34 categories. All professional entries were judged on the following criteria:  technical excellence, both in surface design and form; market viability; a distinct quality of unique, original and creative thought. Professional finalists are featured in the Winter issue of NICHE magazine, and are also listed in the February BMAC Show Guide.

CEREMONY/SPECIAL DISPLAY
All finalists are invited to display their piece in a special display at the February Buyers Market of American Craft. Participating in the display exposes finalists' work to thousands of buyers from across the country. NICHE Award winners are honored in a special ceremony held during the February Buyers Market of American Craft in Philadelphia PA. Winners are also featured in the Spring issue of NICHE magazine. Brayton is one of four finalists selected in the lampworked category for 2009. For more info on the niche awards, please visit
